Height 18.9 cm, 7½ in. Compare a closely related warrior figure preserved in the British Museum, London (accession no. 1983,0729.3), illustrated in Shelagh J. Vainker, Chinese Pottery and Porcelain: From Prehistory to the Present, London, 1991, pp 126-7, fig. 94. The dating of this lot is consistent with the result of a thermoluminescence test, Oxford Authentication Ltd., no. P119b13.
