Ca. AD 800 - 1200. A polychrome pottery vessel with a long, cylindrical neck rising from a tapered bulbous body and terminating in a wide, flaring rim. The surface is painted in red and black, with three encircling bands adorning the neck. The upper body is decorated with a continuous frieze of swirling motifs resembling stylised claws, executed in bold curves and nested contours.
