A carnelian intaglio engraved with a left-facing bust of a bearded philosopher, with tightly curled hair, a prominent brow, and drapery gathered at the shoulder, set in a possibly later gold ring with a broad oval bezel mount, the shoulders widening from a flat-section hoop and meeting a plain collet with a narrow lip.
