Pre-Columbian, Mexico, late Maya to early Toltec, Ca. 9th - 12th century AD. >A tripodal bowl, attributed to the Toltec culture, burnished and painted in polychrome with circular and linear motifs on both interior and exterior surfaces. Each of its three rattle legs is modelled to resemble an animal face, lending the vessel a lively, animated quality.
