Third Intermediate Period, Ca. 1069 - 664 BC A painted wood figure of Osiris shown mummiform, with a long tapering body set on a rectangular base and the arms bent at the elbows with the forearms crossed on the chest. The god wears the White Crown of Upper Egypt and a straight beard projecting from the chin, the narrow face with prominent nose, large almond-shaped eyes and projecting ears. Size: 400mm x 300mm; Weight: 510g. Provenance: Private UK collection, acquired on the French art market; ex Private French Collection 1970s.
