Ca. AD 1 - 300 (or later). A carnelian intaglio engraved with an erotic scene, showing a nude male figure standing with one arm extended towards a partner bent forward, with a staff behind. Set in a possibly later gold ring with a broad, tapering hoop and flattened shoulders supporting an oval bezel cell with a plain collar. Size: D:17.12mm / US: 6 3/4 / UK: N; Weight: 8.1g Provenance: Private London collection; previously with F.A., Brussels; Belgian collection formed between the early 1970s to the early 1990s.
