New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A ceremonial jar carved from alabaster with a tubular body ending in a rounded base and a straight cylindrical rim. The upper portion is decorated with a painted frieze of stylised lotus columns. Below, a large central panel depicts a vertical arrangement of three floral elements: a lotus blossom flanked by two poppy seed capsules.
