An agate cameo carved in high relief as the head of Medusa, shown frontally with prominent eyes, a straight nose and a small mouth, the hair arranged in radiating locks with carved serpentine strands, mounted in a possibly later gold frame with a plain oval collet and a broad openwork border cut with repeated facets, surmounted by a ribbed suspension loop.
