Ca. 20th century AD. >A group of two coiled baskets of shallow rounded form, woven in natural fibres and decorated with polychrome geometric and pictorial motifs in dark brown and black. The larger example with bold angular designs around the body, the smaller with banded decoration and repeating geometric elements along the rim and sides. Baskets of this type are associated with Mission Indian basketry traditions of Southern California.
