Ca. 500 - 300 BC. A carnelian scarab, pierced lengthwise, engraved on the flat underside with a hare in profile. Mounted in a possibly later gold swivel ring with a looped hoop and a central oval frame, the axis held between globular terminals. Size: 20mm x 39mm; Weight: 5.7g Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of an early 2000s UK ancient art collection; formerly in the collection of G.M., prior to 1996.
