Ca. 19th century AD. >A Nepalese shaman?s drum consisting of a circular hide-covered head stretched over a wooden frame. The leather surface forms a broad, flat playing area, showing a warm brown tone and areas of wear consistent with ritual use.The drum is mounted on a carved wooden handle in the form of a phurba (ritual dagger), tapering to a pointed end and decorated with incised details along the shaft.
