Ca. 19th - 20th century AD. >A group comprising five fish hooks of varying form and construction, each reflecting traditional Oceanic fishing technology. The hooks are carved from wood, bone, or shell and retain fibre lashings securing barbs or composite elements. One example includes a plaited fibre suspension cord, while another combines a dark wooden shaft with a white shell or bone component bound with fibre.
