A matched pair of gold earrings, each formed as a tapering twisted wire hoop, capped at the wider end with a scrollwork collar from which projects a ram's head with incised eyes, protruding ears and horns, and a ring beneath the muzzle forming the closure. Size: 24-24mm x 24-24mm; Weight: 7.2g Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of a distinguished New York private collection, assembled between 1975 and 1995. The collection was authenticated in the early 1990s by Dr. Jack Ogden and Barbara Deppert Lippitz, leading specialists in ancient jewellery. A significant number of objects from this collection were also published in a professional catalogue. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
