Ca. 400 - 300 BC. A gold pendant in the form of Eros, modelled in the round with arms outstretched and the left leg advanced, the wings with incised feathers and a quiver slung diagonally across the chest. The head is detailed with hair arranged in rows and stylised facial features, with a looped suspension ring above. Size: 19mm x 9mm; Weight: 2g Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of a distinguished New York private collection, assembled between 1975 and 1995. The collection was authenticated in the early 1990s by Dr. Jack Ogden and Barbara Deppert Lippitz, leading specialists in ancient jewellery. A significant number of objects from this collection were also published in a professional catalogue. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
