Ca. 700 - 500 BC. A matched pair of gold earrings, each with a lunate openwork body below a large U-shaped ear wire. The plaque is pierced with a field of circular openings, each framed by fine beaded wire. Tubular hinges at the shoulders secure the ear wire, and a small loop projects from each side of the lunate body. Size: 36-36mm x 22-22mm; Weight: 9g Provenance: Private UK collection; previously acquired on the Austrian art market in the 1990s.
