Ca. 500 BC. A quartz scarab, carved in the round with a naturalistic back and drilled longitudinally, the flat underside engraved with a bull advancing in profile with the head lowered. The scarab is mounted in a possibly later swivel gold ring with a plain hoop of rounded section. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number EA24199. Size: D:19.56mm / US: 9 3/4 / UK: T; Weight: 9.8g Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Munich, Germany in the 1990s.
