Ca. 500 - 300 BC. A chalcedony scarab with incised wing cases, pierced lengthwise, the underside plain. Mounted in a possibly later gold swivel ring with a thick, rounded hoop and an oval frame between domed terminals. Size: D:13.3mm / US: 2 / UK: D; Weight: 5.5g Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of an early 2000s UK ancient art collection; formerly in the collection of G.M., prior to 1996.
