Middle Kingdom to Third Intermediate Period, Ca. 2055 - 1550 BC. A gold swivel ring with a thick, rounded hoop, the shoulders wrapped with fine coiled wire supporting a rotating scarab. The base is carved with the nefer sign and sun disc arranged vertically at the centre, surrounded by intertwined S-spirals, with paired uraei above and below. Size: D:18.54mm / US: 8 1/2 / UK: Q 1/2; Weight: 15.6g Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of an early 2000s UK ancient art collection; formerly in the collection of G.M., prior to 1996.
