拍品描述
In the manner of Matthijs Horrix, circa 1790 The demilune top above a frieze inlaid with a geometric band of alternating satinwood and ebonized veneer, fitted with two drawers, on four square tapering legs Height 30 14 inches (76.5 cm), width 32 1/2 inches (82.5 cm), depth 16 inches (40,5 cm). Footnote: This table exemplifies the refined Dutch interpretation of the Neoclassical idiom in the late 18th century. The use of linear stringing, restrained geometry, and demilune form aligns closely with the oeuvre associated with Matthijs Horrix, one of the leading ébénistes working in The Hague. The alternating banded frieze and delicate leg inlay are particularly characteristic of high-quality Dutch production of the period, reflecting both French influence and local precision in marquetry execution.
