Circa 1840 In the form of a female figure in classical drapery, leaning in a contemplative pose against the clock case, set with dial within a gilt-bronze bezel with Roman numerals and pierced hands; the case on a stepped base veneered in malachite, mounted with gilt-bronze molding, on flattened gilt-bronze paw feet. Height 27 1/2 inches (70 cm), width 21 inches (53.5 cm), depth 9 inches (23 cm).
