Stamped Jean-Baptiste Lebas, Circa 1775 Each with rectangular back and padded arms, supported by scrolled arm supports terminating in carved volutes, the deep seats with loose cushion; on fluted tapering legs, terminating in toupie feet. Height 39 inches (99 cm), width 18 1/4 inches (46.5 cm), depth 28 inches (71 cm). Jean-Baptiste Lebas, maître in 1756 Footnote: Jean-Baptiste Lebas produced Louis XV and Louis XVI seating, al carefully manufactured in classical style. Lebas maintained his workshop on the rue de Clery under the sign of Saint Esprit. He supplied seat furniture to an elite clientele, including the Comte d'Artois, and is also recorded as having executed commissions for the Comtesse du Barry and the Comte d'Artois.
