Ca. AD 900 - 1200. A carnelian intaglio engraved with a bust of a haloed saint with a short moustache and the hair arranged in close rows, the garment tied by a circular brooch. Mounted in a possibly later gold ring with an oval bezel frame, the wall with applied spirals, above a broad tapering hoop with pellets on the shoulders. For similar see: H. C. Evans, W. D.
