拍品描述
1761-Circa 1785, after the models by Etienne-Maurice Falconet Les Amours Falconet, each realistically modeled, seated on rockwork, Cupid holding his right index finger to his lips, his left hand on his quiver; Psyche seated demurely on a rock, both hands holding a bow leaning against her left leg. Height of Cupid 7 5/8 inches (19.4 cm); Psyche: 8 1/4 inches (20.9 cm). Provenance: with Bernard Dragesco & Didier Cramoisan Gallery, Paris, France. Footnote: These Sèvres biscuit figures are known as Les Amours Falconet, after the celebrated models by Etienne-Maurice Falconet (1716-1791). Originally conceived in 1755, Falconet's plaster model of Cupid was exhibited at the Salon of that year, followed two years later by a marble version commissioned for Madame de Pompadour and likewise shown at the Salon. After his appointment as Director of Sculpture at the Sevres manufactory (1757-1766), Falconet adapted the Cupid model for biscuit porcelain production. The companion figure of Psyche was created in 1761 and produced exclusively in biscuit. 品相: No condition report?
