Circa 1750, modeled by Peter Reinicke (1743-1768) The animated figure modeled in a pale grey, gilt buttoned coat, iron-red patterned breeches, and black shoes, standing beside a tree stump, holding a flower in his right hand and a striped flowerpot in his left, a jardiniere at his feet, on a rocaille-molded base applied with flowers, with blue crossed swords mark. Height 5 1/2 inches (13.9 cm). Peter Reinicke (1715-1768) was a modeler at the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory, active from 1743. Working alongside Johann Joachim Kändler, he helped shape Meissen's Rococo style, creating lively, expressive figural groups, including Commedia dell'Arte figures, Cris de Paris vendors, and animal models.
