French, 1874-1949 Nature Morte aux Boutons de Roses, 1928 Signed Manguin (lr) Oil on canvas laid on board 13 x 16 1/8 inches (33 x 41cm) Provenance: Galerie E. Druet, Paris (acquired from the artist, January 1929) Acquired by the family of the present owner, by 1952 Literature: Marie-Caroline Sainsaulieu, Henri Manguin: Catalogue Raisonné De L'oeuvre Peint, Neuchâtel, 1980, p. 296, no. 906, illus. (Framed 20 3/4 x 24 1/8 inches) 品相： Dirty varnish; frame rubbing, resulting in scattered small losses along the edges; warp to the board; water damage visible on the reverse; 1/2 cm hairline scratch at the far left center; 2 small areas of paint separation at the upper right center and lower center; it is most likely that the artist glued the canvas to the board; a few small spots of dark green pigment in the upper center right slightly fluroesce under UV light. It doesn't appear to be restoration.
