Possibly North Italian, circa 1775 Each with a demi-lune veined white marble top above a foliate arabesque-carved frieze with beaded surround centered by a Mercury mask with foliate pendant, on spiral-fluted tapering legs with acanthus collars headed by paterae, joined by a concave stretcher. Painted numbers ‘1’ and ‘II’, with incised Roman numerals and further inscribed to interior in black ink ‘544’ and ‘II’, in blue chalk ‘310H HEX ea’, and ‘3103’ in pencil Height 36 inches (91.5 cm), width 48 inches (102 cm), depth 23 1/2 inches (60 cm).
