Italian, 1576-1622 The Rest on the Flight into Egypt Oil on canvas 65 1/8x 46 3/8 inches (165.4 x 117 cm) Frame 72 x 53 inches (183 x 134.5 cm) Provenance: Private collection, New York The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Emilio Negro and Nicosetta Roio, co-authors of Leonello Spada (Reggio Emilia, 2002). 品相： Glue relined. Restoration around the edges. One large area of restoration (roughly 4 x 6 inches) in the background to the right of Joseph's head. Mended hole (1 x 1 1/2 inches) in the shadow on the Virgin's neck. Touches of restoration to the faces and hands, and to the body of the Christ child. Contours and shadows reinforced elsewhere.
