Ca. 300 - 100 BC. A matched pair of gold earrings, each with an annular body and a hinged clasp, both faces decorated with a beaded wire ring and applied granulation arranged as repeated triangular groups. The outer edge extends into short triangular rays, each topped with a granule, and is encircled by a plain band surmounted by double-stacked pellets. Size: 43-44mm x 46-46mm; Weight: 38.9g Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of a distinguished New York private collection, assembled between 1975 and 1995. The collection was authenticated in the early 1990s by Dr. Jack Ogden and Barbara Deppert Lippitz, leading specialists in ancient jewellery. A significant number of objects from this collection were also published in a professional catalogue. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
