拍品描述
Ca. 20th century AD. >A long, slender Dinka club carved from a single piece of wood, tapering gradually toward a pointed tip. The body displays a smooth, polished surface with rich brown tones and visible grain. The upper end is wrapped with a woven fibre binding, forming a textured cap that provides both reinforcement and grip. Clubs of this type were traditionally carried by Dinka men and served both practical and symbolic functions, including use as a walking stick, for protection, or as part of pastoral life associated with cattle herding. > >Size: 710mm x 55mm; Weight: 1kg >Provenance: Prince Collection, 1990s-2014; ex Jacaranda Tribal Art; ex Marc Ginzberg collection. > >
