A Dan mask carved from a single piece of dense, reddish-brown wood, exhibiting the characteristic elongated oval face, full lips, and almond-shaped eyes with finely incised details along the forehead. Such masks were integral to Dan ritual and social life, often worn during ceremonies that mediated between the spiritual and physical realms, guiding moral conduct and community harmony.
