Ca. late 19th - early 20th century AD. > A Bembe wooden standing figure carved with slightly flexed legs and hands placed across the abdomen, the sculpture displays the elongated proportions characteristic of Bembe carving. The head is shaped with a high forehead, almond-shaped eyes, and a narrow nose above a small mouth, while a simple cap-like headdress crowns the head.
