A 9k gold automatic wristwatch on an associated 9k gold bracelet Movement No.17183534, Case No.971-122552, hallmarked Birmingham 1961 Cal.552 self-winding 24 jewel movement, silvered dial with applied faceted baton indexes, alpha hands, centre seconds, circular case with heavy shoulders. Dial and movement signed, case signed Omega Watch Co, Made in England and A.L.D. Reverse engraved S.M.S. to F.M.M. 18.3.62. On 9k gold bracelet stamped W.H.W Ltd and hallmarked Birmingham 1967. Diameter 34mm. To fit wrist approx. 170mm. Total approx. weight 67.71g. A.L.D. is for Dennison casemakers who made cases under licence for Omega, among other notable Swiss manufactures, in England. This was most likely for tax purposes as it was most costly to import a whole watch in the UK than a dial and movement only.
