A slim and elegant 18k gold keyless pocket watch 1930s Frosted gilt bar movement jewelled to the centre, silvered dial with fancy numerals, outer minute track, blued steel hands, three-piece slim case with reverse engraved J.F.A. St.A, unsigned. Diameter 49mm, approx. thickness 7mm, approx. total weight 51.20g. The J.F.A St.A initials to the reverse most likely represent John Frank Allen (1908-2001) who was appointed a professor in natural philosophy at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, in 1947. Today, a library remains dedicated to his name.
