Antique carved wooden reliquary staff featuring a Janus-faced double-sided design. One side is decorated with narrow metal strips applied in closely spaced parallel bands, creating a dense textured surface, while the opposite face is covered with fine parallel metal wires, with small circular metal elements forming stylized eyes and additional wire strands extending downward. The shaft is wrapped with metal wire and terminates in a carved openwork handle. Surface with dark aged patina. Mounted on a later display base. Good antique condition with age-related wear and patina. Minor abrasions to carved areas consistent with age and handling. Please refer to the photos for more details. Height: 20".
