Characterized by a powerful and austere facial expression, an elongated face with domed forehead, slit-like eyes, triangular nose, and pronounced lips. Incised facial lines and traces of pigment accent the carved features. The lower portion retains raffia adorned with attached shells forming a decorative element, with a worn textile strap remaining. Hollowed reverse with hand-carved interior, and rim perforations for attachment of costume materials. Good antique condition with surface wear, patina variation consistent with traditional use and age. Please refer to the photos for more details.
