A Indonesian Nisa sword, Balato 19th century The hilt carved from horn with a face of a man, the wood scabbard mounted with brass bands surmounted by horn locket, 45cm long. Note: Balato is a sword that originates from Nias, an island located in a chain of islands parallel to the west coast of Sumatra.
