Two Japanese lacquer inro Edo/Meiji period The first decorated in hiramaki-e and takamaki-e to either side with cajoling shishi amidst peonies and rocks, the ground with traces of gilt, 9.5cm high, the second, of guri lacquer, deeply carved with scrolling motifs, the interiors in hiramaki-e and with painted inscriptions, 9cm high (2).
