Zhang Shuping (? - ? Circa Qianlong period) A nine-leaf album of Chinese calligraphy in kaishu, Yueyilun (selected text) Gold ink on black paper, mounted as album laves, signed Zhang Shuping, dated 1754, 10.6 x 14.7cm, the album measures 20.4 x 28.5 x 1.9cm. 章樹屏 (乾隆年間) 節錄楷書 《樂毅論》 金書紙本,一冊九幀 款識:「乾隆甲戌夏」,「上元章樹屏臨」。 Note: Zhang Shuping, a native of Jiangning, was a tribute student (suigongsheng) during the Qing dynasty. He was well known in his hometown for his filial piety, serving his grandparents and his widowed mother with utmost devotion. His deeds are recorded in the Gazetteer of the Two Counties of Shangjiang of the Tongzhi Reign, in the section “Loyalty, Integrity, Filial Piety, and Fraternal Duty.” His father, Zhang Pengling, was a successful candidate in the provincial examination (juren) in the 47th year of the Kangxi reign, and is documented in the Comprehensive Biographies of Jinling of the Guangxu Reign. 章樹屏,江寧人,清代歲貢生。以孝聞於鄉里,事祖父母及寡母至孝。其事蹟載於《同治上江兩縣志·忠儀孝弟》卷。其父章彭齡為康熙四十七年舉人,載於《光緒金陵通傳》。
