Chen Linzhai (1912 - 1999) Boys at play Ink and colour on paper paintings, mounted as an wood eight-fold screen, signed with the last painting with Chen Linzhai hua with two square seals reading Chen and QihuLinzhai, other paintings with a round seal reading Linzhai, each painting 7 x 21cm; the screen 34.5 x 10.5cm each panel. 陳林齋 童戲 設色紙本，木雕八扇屏 款識：陳林齋画 鈴印：「陳」、「啟湖」、「林齋」。 Note: Chen Linzhai, a Beijing-born painter known as Qihu, specialized in fine-line figure painting. He joined the Hu Society in 1929, later co-founded the Siyou Painting Studio, worked at Rongbaozhai from 1956, and in 1972 moved to the Palace Museum to copy and restore ancient artworks. 陳林齋，北京人，號啟湖，畫家，精於工筆人物。1929年入湖社畫會，後與楊敏、常斌卿、王仁山組成四友畫館。1956年進入榮寶齋任水印古畫摹繪專家；1972年調故宮博物院修復廠臨摹古代名跡。
