A Chinese summer court hat of an official, with box Qing dynasty, 19th/20th century Of conical form, constructed on a bamboo frame overlaid with red threads, a band of silk woven with gold metal wrapped threads to the broad rim, the interior lined with orange mesh, the gilt finial set with a blue Peking glass bead, above a white Peking glass tubular plume holder issuing a single-eyed peacock plume, the front rim applied with a faux pearl, 32cm diameter, 19cm high, the box 35.2cm diameter, 25cm high (2).
