This lot is offered without reserve A Chinese 'thin-walled' Yixing teapot and cover 20th century, signed Chen Guoliang The thinly-potted vessel rising from three compressed conical feet to a gently rounded body flanked by a circular handle with a bamboo-form section and a pointed spout, all surmounted by a domed cover with a slender arched knop, the cover impressed with two seal marks, 'Chen' and 'Guoliang', the base with impressed seal mark, 'Chen Guoliang Zhi', 12cm long x 9cm high, and weighing 80g. Provenance: The Collection of Doreen Belcher, purchased from Peter Wain. Peter Wain was Doreen’s brother and they shared space in an antiques shop in Woore, Shropshire. 二十世紀陳國良作 薄胎宜興紫泥茶壺，模印「陳」、「國良」、「陳國良製」款 來源：Doreen Belcher 收藏，購自 Peter Wain。Peter Wain 為 Doreen 的兄長，兩人曾於英國什羅普郡（Shropshire）Woore 的一間古董店共用經營空間。 Chen Guoliang was born in 1954 in Dingshu Town, Yixing, Jiangsu Province. In 1972, he began studying under He Daohong at the Yixing Zisha (Purple Clay) Craft Factory. In 1988, his zisha work “Pu Baokou Flowerpot” was selected for display in the Ziguang Pavilion of Zhongnanhai. In 2001, he was awarded the honorary title of “Famous Artist of Chinese Zisha” by the China Arts and Crafts Society. In 2011, he was recognized as a “Master of Arts and Crafts of Jiangsu Province” by the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government. In 2016, he was granted the honorary title of “Master of Chinese Ceramic Arts”. He is renowned for his exquisite thin-walled craftsmanship.
