This lot is offered without reserve A Chinese Yixing teapot and cover late 20th century, signed Zhou Dingfang Charmingly modelled as a leather bag decorated with checks and flowers, the interior of the cover and the base each impressed with a seal reading 'Dingfang', 11.8 cm long. Provenance: The Collection of Doreen Belcher, purchased from Peter Wain. Peter Wain was Doreen’s brother and they shared space in an antiques shop in Woore, Shropshire. 二十世紀晚期周定芳作 宜興皮包型紫泥茶壺，模印「定芳」款 來源：Doreen Belcher 收藏，購自 Peter Wain。Peter Wain 為 Doreen 的兄長，兩人曾於英國什羅普郡（Shropshire）Woore 的一間古董店共用經營空間。 Zhou Dingfang, born March 1965, is a National-Level Master of Arts and Crafts and a craft artist at the Second Yixing Zisha Art Factory. In 1984, she studied Yixing Zisha pottery under Xu Xiutang. From 1985 to 1986, she pursued advanced studies in ceramic design. In 1990, her work Fanpu Guizhen Teapot was awarded the Silver Medal at the National Arts and Crafts Baihua Award. In 1995, she participated in the “International Ceramic Art Fair” in the United Kingdom and gave a technical demonstration. Zhou incorporates modern sculptural techniques into Yixing teapot making, with a style characterized by bold exaggeration, breaking the constraints of traditional Zisha teapot forms, and producing innovative and unusual shapes.
