This lot is offered without reserve A Chinese Yixing ‘ridding the oppressive force’ teapot and cover Late 20th century, signed Shu Fengying The cover moullded in the form of an umbrella canopy, the handle applied with a sword sheath, the sword withdrawable, the interior with two impressed seals reading ‘Shu’ and ‘Fengying’, the base impressed with ‘Shu Fengying Zhi’ mark, 15.5cm long. Provenance: The Collection of Doreen Belcher, purchased from Peter Wain. Peter Wain was Doreen’s brother and they shared space in an antiques shop in Woore, Shropshire. Purchased on 14 May 1993 from Peter Wain Gallery in Shropshire (invoice and label). Published: Peter Wain, Contemporary Yixing Teapots, p. 5.
