Yuan Jiang (? - circa 1746) Sunset in Autumn woods; Watery landscape Ink and colour on silk, 36.3 x 33cm, mounted as album leaves with colophon possibly by Feng Shiqiao (1718 - 1784) or Jiang Fengyi (Qing dynasty, ? - ?), signed Jushan 36.5 x 33cm. The first painting with title slip reads Qiu Lin Xi Zhao, colophon with three seals; the second painting with four seals to colophon (2). Provenance: The Nan Brake Collection, and thence by descent within the family. 袁江 秋林夕照圖;山水圖 簽條:秋林夕照,袁江真筆。 跋或為馮士翹,亦或為江鳳彝。 跋: 題識:秋山日暮散朱霞,點綴廖空雁影斜,葉落霜林閒繫纜,停舟坐看泛浪花。 款識:秬山。 鈴印:「秬山」,「仲子」,「□□□」。 題識:春來澹盪柳扶風,菸拂山川雅興同,慢捲水樓相對坐,杏花欄外一枝紅。 款識:秬山。 鈴印:「秬山」,「仲子」,「韓花楊春之后」,「□□□」 来源: Nan Brake藏品,后传承至家族后人。 Note: Feng Shiqiao (1718–1784), courtesy name Huaiyuan, art name Jushan, was a native of Beijie, Zhangzi County, Shanxi. He was a renowned calligrapher of the Qing dynasty. Born into a scholarly family, he excelled in calligraphy and drew on the strengths of various masters, including Wang, Ouyang, Yan, and Liu. Jiang Fengyi (? - ?), was a Qing dynasty native of Qiantang (modern Hangzhou). He earned the juren degree in 1798 and served as magistrate of Tai’an. Skilled in calligraphy.
