拍品描述
Ca. 20th century AD. >A group of two woven fibre baskets of differing form and scale. The larger example is of coiled construction, with a domed, stepped lid composed of concentric rings rising toward the top. The sides are tightly woven and slightly flared, the surface showing areas of wear and darkened patina from handling. The smaller basket is rectangular in form, with a flat hinged lid and finely woven surface creating a regular geometric texture. Its compact proportions suggest use as a personal container, possibly for small valuables or domestic items. > >Size: 190-305mm x 70-170mm; Weight: 745g >Provenance: Prince Collection, 1990s-2014; left - ex Pierre Dartevelle, right - ex Kevin Conru > >
