Two albums containing colour woodblock prints of birds and flowers, from the series Keinen kacho gafu ('Birds and Flowers of Four Seasons'), dated 25th year of the Meiji period, corresponding to 1892, to include the 'Summer' volume comprised of thirty-two plates, and the 'Autumn' volume comprised of thirty-eight plates, each bound Size:(the books approx. 36.8 x 25.6cm) Qty: (2) Provenance:Private collection, UK, acquired during the 1960s, or earlier Notes: The British Museum holds these albums, see museum nos. HG,0.253.2 and HG,0.253.3. Part of the shin-hanga movement, Imao Keinen became a member of the Art Committee of the Imperial Household in 1904 and the Imperial Art Academy in 1919.
