Two albums containing colour woodblock prints of birds and flowers, from the series Keinen kacho gafu ('Birds and Flowers of Four Seasons'), dated 25th year of the Meiji period, corresponding to 1892, to include the 'Summer' volume comprised of thirty-two plates, and the 'Autumn' volume comprised of thirty-eight plates, each bound Size:(the books approx. 36.8 x 25.6cm) Qty: (2) Provenance:Private collection, UK, acquired during the 1960s, or earlier Notes: The British Museum holds these albums, see museum nos. HG,0.253.2 and HG,0.253.3. Part of the shin-hanga movement, Imao Keinen became a member of the Art Committee of the Imperial Household in 1904 and the Imperial Art Academy in 1919. Keinen’s most famous work, Keinen Kacho Gafu, is a stunning four-part work of woodblock prints of birds and flowers in the four seasons. 本品與大英博物館所藏之同款畫冊(館藏編號:HG,0.253.2 及 HG,0.253.3)互為印證,展現了十九世紀末日本版畫工藝之極致。其線條流暢,色彩敷設自然,為公私收藏界所推崇。 今尾景年作為新版畫運動的前驅人物,其藝術成就深獲日本皇室肯定,曾於1904年受任為帝室技藝員,並於1919年榮任帝國美術院會員。《景年花鳥畫譜》全套分為春、夏、秋、冬四部,以精湛的木版水印技法展現了四季更迭中的靈禽花卉。
