Formed to depict Chairman Mao and compatriots, including a winter soldier in a tiger-skin cape and a woman holding up a lantern, all stood before several large fluttering red flags, the rectangular base inscribed Yanzhe mao zhuxi geming wenyi luxian fenyong qianjin! Asa Briggs, Baron Briggs was an English historian, and was as a leading specialist on the Victorian era and the foremost historian of broadcasting in Britain. Briggs achieved international recognition during his long and prolific career for examining various aspects of modern British history.
