The two figures sat atop a rocky outcrop, the soldier reading an extract from Chairman Mao's Little Red Book as the woman listens attentively, the small basket resting on her lap containing a Red Guard uniform, the base unglazed Size:(28cm high) Qty: (1) Provenance:Collection of Asa Briggs (1921-2016), thence by descent. Asa Briggs, Baron Briggs was an English historian, and was as a leading specialist on the Victorian era and the foremost historian of broadcasting in Britain. Briggs achieved international recognition during his long and prolific career for examining various aspects of modern British history.
