Comprising nine ink rubbings depicting the Sacred Mountains of China, by Xi An Bogu Tang; together with a larger ink rubbing of Mount Taibai, the main peak of the Qinling Mountains in China, with an nscription detailing the history, geographical location, and reasons for the construction of the stele at Mount Taibai Size:(118 - 183cm long) Qty: (9) Provenance:Private Scottish collection, Melrose, acquired in China in the 1940's when working for Shell, thence by descent; Private collection, London 來源： 蘇格蘭私人收藏，梅爾羅斯；藏家於 1940 年代任職於殼牌石油在華期間購得，後由家族繼承； 倫敦私人珍藏 Notes: The original stele which depicts the eight famous scenes of Guanzhong, was carved and erected during the nineteenth year or Kangxi period, corresponding to 1680AD, now housed in the Xian Beiling Museum. Guanzhong refers to the region surrounding the ancient capital of Chang’an, located in present-day Shaanxi Province. The “Eight Scenic Spots of Guanzhong” traditionally include: Huayue Immortal’s Palm, Lishan Mountain in Evening Light, Wind and Snow at Balu, Drinking at the Qujiang River, Morning Bell at the Wild Goose Pagoda, Ancient Ferry at Xianyang, Smoke at the Thatched Cottage, and Snow at Taibai. The stone stele titled Eight Scenes of Guanzhong was carved by Fan Dongxing, an artisan from Pinyang, in 1860 (10th year of the Xianfeng reign in the Qing Dynasty). It is based on a series of eight-panel paintings and accompanying poems by Wu Tinggui (dates unknown). Each scene on the stele features the corresponding poem inscribed along the upper margin. 《關中八景》碑原刻立於清康熙十九年（1680年），現藏於西安碑林博物館。 關中地區指古都長安周邊（今陝西省）。 關中八景歷代說法略有出入，此碑所載八景為：華岳仙掌；驪山晚照；灞橋風雪；曲江流飲；雁塔晨鐘；咸陽古渡；草堂煙霧；太白積雪。 本組拓片所依之石碑，係清咸豐十年（1860年）由平陽藝匠范東興所刻。其藍本取自清代名士吳廷舉（生卒年不詳）所繪之八屏畫作及其配詩。每幀拓片上方均完整收錄對應詩文。
