拍品描述
Ca. 20th century AD. >A circular Zulu hat formed from densely arranged natural fibres dyed a vivid red. The fibres radiate outward from a central point, creating a thick, textured surface and a low, domed profile. The tightly bound construction gives the piece a compact and resilient structure. Hats of this type were worn as part of traditional Zulu dress, often serving both practical and ceremonial functions. > For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number Af1993,08.1. >Size: 465mm x 465mm; Weight: 730g >Provenance: Prince Collection, 1990s-2014; ex Jacaranda Tribal Art; ex Marc Ginzberg collection. > >
